A career highlight, and Oscar winning performance with Jeff Bridges. To top it all off, a whole host of incredible music and performances along the way.

Crazy Heart (2009)

          Directed by; Scott Cooper.
Starring; Jeff Bridges, Colin Farrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Robert Duvall..

Based upon the 1987 novel, of the same name, by Thomas Cobb, Crazy Heart follows aging country star Otis "Bad" Blake. The down and out singer aims to turn his life around, and follows him on this journey. The film features a career best performance from Jeff Bridges, winning his only Academy Award for the role. Well deserved too! The music in the film is on another level, written by some of the biggest names in country music, with all performance by the cast themselves. It is well worth the time to sit down and check it out.

Available to rent on DisneyPlus.

Blaze (2018)

          Directed by; Ethan Hawke.

Starring; Ben Dickey & Alia Shawkat, plus appearances by Kris Kristofferson, Sam Rockwell, Richard Linklater, Charlie Sexton..

The is a beautiful brilliance with Blaze Foley that can hardly be put in to words. Not only should you check out this movie, directed by the wonderful Ethan Hawke, go and check out Foley's music. I hold his music to the same degree as John Prine, and that says a lot in itself!

Unfortunately, this appears to be the first entrant in our what to watch series that isn't readily available to stream. However, it can be picked up on Blu-Ray or on DVD! Trust us, it'll be worth it if you do..
